Abstract

|
Architecture is built by the people who shares the socio-cultural viewpoint of understanding in the same period. Therefore, the sufficient insight of the contemporary common understanding system forming human recognition system is essential to have a correct understanding of architecture. Gi is one of the main cultural factor melted in life, a viewpoint for apprehension of the world and also philosophical theme handed down from the starting point of the science of the east asian countries including Korea, China and Japan. It thus appears that architecture can be influenced by the understanding system on nature focused on Gi. In this context, this paper aims to have right appreciation on Korean traditional architecture by considering east asian cultural cognition system of Gi.
